Now that you’ve seen the feature list, let’s break down how each capability impacts real-world Call Management.
Voice Recognition
IntelePeer has built-in speech recognition through its SmartFlows platform and SmartAgent, using ASR that goes beyond basic yes/no detection. It can interpret specific words, phrases, numbers, and currency amounts, and assign meaning to them mid-call. That feeds directly into the call flow — routing decisions, data lookups, self-service responses — without requiring the caller to press anything. The NLP layer on top also handles sentiment and tone, so a caller who sounds frustrated gets handled differently than one who doesn’t.
Toll-Free Numbers
IntelePeer provides toll-free voice origination for the US and Canada, with billing starting from when an answer signal is recorded and running in six-second increments. The toll-free numbers work across inbound voice services and can be routed through SmartFlows or SIP packages depending on how your call handling is set up. They’re also SMS-enabled separately if you want the same number handling both voice and text — useful for customers who might switch between calling and texting the same line.
Real-Time Reporting
IntelePeer’s SmartAnalytics dashboard shows containment rates, transfer rates, interaction durations, and cost-per-minute savings across both AI agent and live agent interactions — from day one, not after weeks of data collection. You can build custom dashboards around the KPIs that matter to your operation, and drill into specific intents and outcomes to see where flows are working and where they’re losing people. The Interaction Explorer lets you filter, search transcripts, and pull up audio for individual calls without leaving the analytics view.
Professional Recordings
IntelePeer automatically records calls through SmartAgent, saves them to the cloud, and makes them available for download as MP3 files. SmartAnalytics ties into those recordings with full transcription, so you’re not just storing audio — you can search the transcript for specific terms, filter by metadata, and pull up the exact moment in a conversation you’re looking for. For compliance teams, that means a proper audit trail. For training teams, it means coaching sessions are built on actual call content rather than secondhand accounts.
Interactive Voice Response (IVR)
IntelePeer supports traditional DTMF-based IVR through SmartFlows — press 1 for sales, press 2 for support — but also lets you move past that into conversational AI flows where callers just say what they need. SmartQueuing layers on top of IVR with cloud queuing, automatic surveys, and callback options so callers aren’t just sitting on hold when volumes spike. The whole thing runs through SmartFlows, which means any logic change — updated menu, different routing rule, new department added — gets made in the flow without touching any underlying infrastructure.
Call Recording
IntelePeer records calls automatically through SmartAgent, stores them in the cloud, and lets you download them as MP3s. The recordings are tied to full transcriptions through SmartAnalytics, so retrieval isn’t just pulling an audio file — you can search by keyword, filter by call outcome or metadata, and jump to a specific point in the conversation using a transcript search. For regulated industries like healthcare or finance, where every call record needs to be accounted for, that combination of audio and searchable transcript is the difference between a filing system and an actual compliance tool.
Call Analytics
SmartAnalytics tracks every interaction across AI agents and live reps — containment rates, transfer rates, call durations, resolution outcomes — and surfaces them through summary dashboards and a detailed intent-level view. The Interaction Explorer goes deeper: search across transcripts for specific terms, spot patterns in how conversations unfold, see where callers are bailing out before reaching resolution. Data can be exported into existing business intelligence tools, and for teams working at scale, it integrates with Snowflake for cross-functional data sharing without moving files around manually.
Inbound Call Tracking
IntelePeer’s customer portal lets you manage numbers and short codes across SmartFlows, Engage campaigns, and SIP packages from one place. Each number in your inventory can be assigned to a specific use — a campaign, a department, a traffic source — and calls and messages come back labeled against whichever number they came through. If you’re running separate outbound campaigns and want to know which number or flow is generating the most inbound response, the portal gives you that visibility without needing a separate tracking tool on top.
Call Filtration
SmartFlows lets you set routing rules based on incoming area code, time of day, day of the week, caller input, or percentage-based load distribution across call centers. A call from a specific region goes to the local team. A call outside business hours routes to a self-service flow. High volume gets spread across locations so no single center takes the hit. All of that logic lives in the flow and can be adjusted without touching any underlying system — change the rule, save the flow, done.
Automatic Call Distribution (ACD)
IntelePeer’s SmartQueuing handles call distribution through cloud queuing technology that keeps calls moving even when volumes spike or something unexpected disrupts normal operations. Calls can be queued or redirected to different locations and departments based on rules you set, and the system includes callback options so callers aren’t just waiting indefinitely. For businesses that have existing on-premise contact center infrastructure — Cisco, Avaya — IntelePeer layers on top rather than replacing it, so you get the distribution and queuing capabilities without a rip-and-replace project.
API and Third-Party Integrations
IntelePeer connects to Salesforce, Zendesk, Slack, Jira, IBM Watson, AWS, Google Cloud, WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, and more through SmartFlows integrations and a RESTful web service API. For CRMs and billing systems, there are pre-built templated integrations that cut setup time significantly. The platform also connects to EMR, PMS, and CCaaS systems for healthcare and contact center deployments, and supports hybrid and on-premise infrastructure so teams with legacy systems aren’t forced into a full cloud migration before they can start using any of it.
CPaaS
IntelePeer’s Atmosphere CPaaS covers voice, SMS, MMS, social messaging, and conversational AI through one platform, and runs on cloud, on-premise, or hybrid infrastructure. It’s built for mid-to-large enterprises that need to modernize contact center operations without replacing what’s already in place — the platform layers on top of existing Cisco, Avaya, or other on-prem systems rather than requiring a migration first. It’s HIPAA, PCI, GDPR, and SOC 2 certified, which matters for healthcare, finance, and any other regulated industry where compliance isn’t optional.

What Do Customers Say About the IntelePeer?
Positive reviews:
“I like how simple it is to set up workflows and get communications running quickly.” – Kavin K. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ August 16, 2025
“Improves customer experience and reduces costs with cloud-based communication.” – Verified User in Financial Services ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ July 29, 2025
Negative reviews:
“We were quoted $250 for a specified number of users, billed $250 for the first month, then we started getting charged $600-$1000 based on usage each subsequent month. I tried for months to get our rep (who quit or got fired), our integration manager (who quit or got fired), then the VP of channel sales (who quit or got fired) to resolve the issue. After all of those people left the organization, I turned to the accounts receivable team who was all but useless in getting it fixed. Eventually, a director reached out to me and said that my account was set up and quoted incorrectly originally and that I was being billed the correct amount; they offered to credit me for the first 4 months so that it matched the quoted price (we were 7 months in at this point). After some pushback, they adjusted 2 more months but said that I would have to pay 3-4 times what I was quoted moving forward. I expressed my displeasure at the absurdity as professionally as I could muster at the time but agreed to move forward. That was over 2 months ago, and they are still having issues getting our invoices sorted out after we made a payment for the previous invoices.” – Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management ⭐☆☆☆☆ July 20, 2023
Positive reviews:
“We have had a really good experience with IntelePeer and their products. Most everything has gone really well, but like most projects and implementations, there have been areas of opportunity.” – VP, Project Management ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ June 19, 2025
“A great team was assembled to understand our processes and provide implementation, and now the statistics and call analysis we are obtaining are amazing. Intelepeer is actively developing more use cases to implement in many more areas of patient engagement, which is exciting and will really make a difference.” – Director of Finance ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ November 13, 2025
Positive reviews:
“Agile, dynamic, no barriers. Great humans, incredible autonomy, no-holds-barred approach to client problem-solving, incredible support. Did I mention unlimited PTO?” – Senior Conversational AI Designer ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ February 20, 2025
“IntelePeer improves your brand and customer experience with automation and AI. An amazing family culture. Brilliant people with AI-thought leadership. Flat organizational structure where everyone is eager to support.” – Sr. Account Executive ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ January 15, 2025
Negative reviews:
“Choose IntelePeer if you want to offer poor support and terrible quality customer service. All their claims about helping clients save money while enhancing customer support are lies. They are fake claims, as the support they offered was the worst. We lost many customers after opting for Intelepeer. It was awful. Please avoid making the same mistake.” – Dennis Moore ⭐☆☆☆☆ July 29, 2024
